The Story Behind the Idea

Not All Shaving Handles Are Built the Same.

The idea for the Skull Rake started when I couldn’t keep a good grip on my shaving handle while I shaved my head. I followed my usual routine in the shower, but I kept running into the same problem. The razor would slip out of my hand, hit the floor, and sometimes break.

Frustrated by the lack of control, I decided to create a better Skull Rake handle to improve my shaving experience. I started by molding clay into different shapes, testing comfortable grip positions. Eventually, I switched to wax, which allowed me to carve a handle that fit
perfectly in my hand and worked across every angle needed to shave the scalp.

Once I refined the design, I realized it needed to work beyond head shaving. It had to perform just as well on the face, chest, back, and legs. After a year of trial and error, I attached a razor head to my custom handle and tested it. The result was a smoother, easier shaving experience with better control.

After building a handle I was proud of, I needed real feedback. I worked with an engineer to create a 3D prototype and produced several versions. Then, I handed them out to bald men everywhere—friends, strangers, and anyone willing to try it. Each person used the Skull Rake for two weeks and shared their experience through a survey.
